Bed & Breakfast

in Ipsden, near Wallingford

A simple, comfortable and informal bed and breakfast (with evening meals by arrangement) in a Victorian farm cottage in the heart of the beautiful Chiltern countryside. Situated in the middle of the tiny village of Ipsden, it is very convenient for the local shop/Post Office and the King William IV pub, and is only four miles from the charming, historical market town of Wallingford with the Thames running through it. The village is on the Sustrans Cycle Route 5 and the Chilterns Cycleway; for walkers, it is very close to the Ridgeway, the Chiltern Way and many other beautiful walks. It is also convenient for Reading, Oxford and Henley being about 15 miles from each.

The accommodation is a newly decorated twin room with tea-making facilities, looking across the garden to a wood opposite. Red kites can often be seen circling overhead. As with most farm cottages, the bathroom is downstairs, but dressing gowns are provided. Parking is off-road, and for bicycles there is a garage and even a workbench if needed! Whatever your requirements, I'll try and meet them, but there is no widescreen TV or much in the way of ultra mod cons. However, wi-fi is available.

You will be sure of a very warm welcome, home cooking, fresh eggs from my chickens, meals in the garden if weather permits - or if not, then beside the wood burning-stove.
